A Sacred Rebellion

Neal Fagan (Director): This film started as a story about sport and natural winemaking, but it gradually shifted to a story about pace, the pace we force on ourselves, and the one our bodies keep telling us to return to.
While making it, I noticed the themes of the piece sneaking into the way I worked. I kept wanting to “solve” the film immediately, to have all the answers figured out, the same way a sprinter wants to force speed. But the process kept asking me to slow down, to listen, and to trust that those answers will come along the way.
In a strange way, the film taught me the thing it’s trying to say: that patience isn’t losing or being lost, it’s an act of rebellion, it’s an act of devote trust.
A quieter kind of strength.
I hope you feel some of that when you watch it and thank you to everyone who helped bring this film to life.

Madrid-born cinematographer with a solid technical background and profound artistic sensibility.
Originally considered studying architecture, Alex found in film a space where his passions for painting, music, literature, and photography converged. Fascinated by light and image, he began in camera and lighting departments, distinguishing himself as a gaffer on numerous films, documentaries, fiction series, advertising campaigns, and music videos eventually becoming a director of photography.
Education and Teaching
After studying Cinematography & Visual Arts in TAI Art School (Rey Juan Carlos Univeristy) with a dissertation on the shooting, exhibition and preservation of cinema in photochemical film format, he complemented his career with a Master's degree in Contemporary Art, Literature, and Culture from the Open University of Catalonia, where he lectured on Tarkovsky, a key influence on his work. He has also taught at the Madrid Film Institute and the TAI Art School (Rey Juan Carlos University) in wich he is at the moment strengthening and sharing his understanding of cinematic language as a teacher.
Feature Projects and Future
After shooting "Incinerate" (2025), his first feature film, he combines his teaching work with advertising projects for brands like Adidas, Scalpers, Pull&Bear, Bete Noir, O´Neill or Chevrolet while developing two new feature films: "Los Elogios" (2026) and "Pulso Primigenio" (2027).

"We sought to express the character's inner world through a combination of anamorphic and spherical lenses, which we used depending on the main character's mental state. We also moved away from naturalistic lighting and into a world of expressive and dynamic light, characteristic of the story's symbolism." Camera & Light Magazine, September Issue, 2024
His goal is to continue growing as a cinematographer, experimenting with light, framing, and movement as expressive tools. Alejandro considers cinema a complete form of expression, where the technical and the artistic intertwine. His work is based on collaboration and constant exploration.
